Dogs are a GIRL'S best friend!

Not to toot my own horn or anything but I have the BEST dog ever. This isn't the same as when your child is a "little" bad but you still say they are the best, wrong! Our furbaby is the BEST chocolate lab that was ever made! I don't know if the husband and I are just great parents-ha! Maybe we just got lucky! We have a two and half year old chocolate lab named Coy. His full name is Mallard De"Coy" Cobia...who do you think picked that name? Shoulda heard the first choice! Ha! He loves hunting, fishing, riding in the back of the pick-up truck (giving his momma a heart attack), going to the lake, laying on the bed, couch, floor, or just anywhere! He loves to go on walks and play with other dogs! He has NEVER gone to the bathroom in the house or chewed up a single thing. Let me repeat myself, we have a CHOCOLATE LAB WHO HAS NEVER CHEWED ANYTHING! I know... I think he was sent straight from god! He is the biggest momma's boy though!! He can hang with the husband and fetch his fair share of birds but he prefers cuddling with momma. This 80 lb dog thinks he is a baby and wants to be held all the time. I could not have asked for a better dog. He is like my child. If I can love my furbaby this much, I can't imagine how much we will love our kid! Ha! If you are looking for a dog, your best bet is a lab! They are so loving and friendly. Now for all you crazees out there...Don't get me wrong, he will attack you. He is very protective of his family. His momma is his world so don't touch me! He might be a little too protective though because he always has to be in the middle of the husband and I. If the husband hugs or kisses me, he tries to bite him. What can I say, I am loved! Ha!
I just can't believe how fast the past two and a half years have gone bye! We love you so much Coy! I love you more everyday even though you shed like a maniac and I have to vacuum consistently because of you!! Love ya!

My Husband the Bow Hunter

One day I will get me some cute hunting/creek walking boots...I just love them...

The husband has found yet another hobby. For the past few weeks I have been struggling to find a hobby I could do especially while on summer vacation. (I have had 2 suggestions: scrapbooking and tennis). Scrapbooking I believe is expensive. I am crafty but cheap. Tennis...OK, I used to take lessons at the Country Club and look where it got me!

Columbia heat + being outdoors = Not my new hobby!
(Thanks anyways, I'll keep looking)

Well not only does the husband fish, hunt, play softball, but now he bow hunts. Where does he find so many new hobbies...this one came from Ray! (Thanks Ray-ha!) Thanks to his Dad for getting him involved in this expensive sport as well. I have to admit that he does look mighty cute while practicing. I walked outside and found him like this...

Doesn't he look so cute...?? Too bad if the husband shoots the target and misses, you have to go and fetch them. His land in the creek behind our house! Maybe my new hobby could be the fetcher....Nah! (Ha!) Well I am glad he has found another thing to occupy his time...Now if I could only find a hobby that doesn't include shopping. Does blogging count?? Help...Any suggestions?

Your wish is my command...

Today, my best friend, Alison called and asked if I would be her matron of honor!! Of course, I said YES! I am so happy to have such a great friend like her. She is one of the only people besides the husband that I tell everything to! I am so happy for her and Nate and am proud to stand beside her at her wedding as she marries a TERRIFIC guy! She was such a great maid of honor at my wedding, I could only hope to be as good of one to her, as she was to me! We have had many great memories together and I hope to make many more! I love you!!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!

The Finchs came over to cook out this afternoon and brought sweet Savannah for her first outing. So thrilled it was our house. The boys went straight outside in "The Man Cave". If you don't have one at your house, it is a room off the back of the house, for tools I believe, but the husband has made it into the man cave. It's got a t.v. and a fridge-the quintessential necessities for a man to live! Ha! He says no girls allowed and I am okay with that! Inside of the house is mine!! So while the boys were outside the girls stayed inside. I think I could hold sweet Savannah all day- until she started crying! Ha! She is such a pretty baby!! I am so glad the Reed and Melissa let me take her over when I am there! I am sure they are thinking, give me my child back. The furbaby met her tonight and didn't think too much of her! I was surprised! He is the head of the house and so maybe when it's our turn to have a baby he might feel differently! He just sniffed her feet and that was about it. He sat next to me the entire time wondering when his momma was going to give him his attention he needs! Spolied rotten dog!! Ha!- All DRAKE'S fault! We had a wonderful dinner and were glad that they made their first outing together as a family to our house! Two streets over from theirs. They are the cutest family!! One day I'll be blogging about Drake and I's child on our first outing but keep reading for that! I hope everyone has a great week! Happy Monday!

Visitors in Town

This weekend we had a WONDERFUL treat. Drake's dad and his girlfriend Nora came into town. They came from Jesup, GA with Bruce's two dogs Angel and Riley. They went to dinner with us Friday. This morning we slept in and then took the two dogs to the groomer. They were a little grody-ha! Sorry Bruce! We were only supposed to be getting breakfast this morning at the GREAT Lizard's Thicket so I didn't shower or put makeup on! I should have known better. The boys just had to go to Sportsman's Warehouse. I would have been mortified to see anyone the way I looked. Then we finally got to go home. We all showered and met Nat, Drake's sis at Shooter's Choice...the best gun store ever! Ha! She met us there so we could go see her future reception site at the museum. Very cute! Nora had never been to Groucho's so of course we had to take her! Yum!

While we were in 5 Points we went by the cutest dog treat store called The Three Dog Bakery. I got Coy a monogrammed dog treat! Soo Me! Ha! A pet-a-four, some peanut butter cups and a bunch more goodies for him! He absolutely loved it! He is so spoiled! That is my new favorite shop! If I hadn't known they were for dogs I would have thought we were in Tiffany's bakery. When I let Coy have some they just looked so good I had to try them...Gross it sounds but they looked so good! Tell me they don't. Bruce and I both tried the peanut butter cups! Ugh- they were TERRIBLE- I know I showed have guessed. They tasted like sweat. You know how you work up a sweat and it gets on your lip and then you taste it? I know you do...that's the taste! Don't try it ...take it from us. We did a little shopping for some wonderful Gamecock apparel and stickers for the Georgia folk. We had a wonderful cookout with the family and wish we could do it more often. How time flies. We appreciate them coming. See y'all next time!

Another One Bites the Dust!!

Last Wednesday our good friend Nate called me to say hey. As soon as the phone rang and I saw who it was I knew what he wanted. Nate wanted my helping in proposing to Alison on Friday. He was going to take her to where they met, the horse shoe. He took her there Friday night and I had all of our friends meet at Copper River to surprise her. He proposed at the horse shoe (Yay!) And of course she said YES! She called me to spill and asked where I was. Sorry Alison but I lied and told her I was at Monterrey's with Mel... Nate took her to dinner after at Copper River and she was so shocked to see us all there! The look on her face was priceless!! I am so happy for the two of them. I am so glad to be a part of their future!!Best of luck to the two of them! Love you guys!

Happy Father's Day!!!

This weekend Drake and I went to the big town of Jesup, Ga (ha!) to see his dad. It always seems like it takes so long to get there...wait! It does! 3 1/2 to 4 hours in the car with the husband and furbaby is a long time. It is so worth it though! We met Drake's dad's friend/girlfriend...don't know the title! She is so sweet and very pretty..Hey Nora! We also met her son Ray who is such a good kid! Perfect southern gentlemen. (A dying breed). It was a nice relaxing trip away from home that flew by way too fast! We just got back and am ready to relax in the a.c. I hate that I forgot my camera this weekend but I tried to input something.

Dad,

I hope you have a WONDERFUL father's day! You mean so much to me! You are always there for me even when I call you three times a day-ha! You mean more to me than I could express! I am so proud of the women I have become because of you! You make me smile and I am honored to call you my dad!

Love,
Me

Something to CELEBRATE!!!

I got word on Friday that I had been hired for the first grade position at Satchel Ford Elementary School!!! I am so excited to be going back to first grade in the same classroom, minus the smelly carpet hopefully. I love the people I work with and the children at the school. With the market like it is, I should be fortunate to have a job anywhere, none the less the PERFECT school. Drake told me if I got the job he would take me to Carrabba's, MY FAV!! (ha!) This was us last night...

I also promised myself that if I got the job then I could order a monogrammed ID Badge Reel for my School ID...So I did...Of course mine will be a "C". Haven't gotten it yet but I ordered this one. And yes, it is from http://www.etsy.com/

After dinner we went and met our goddaughter, Savannah. She is such a pretty baby. Most babies come out looking alienish (ha!) and not quite cute yet, but NOT Savannah! She is precious. She weighs 8lbs, 4oz. and loves her Aunt McKeever and Uncle Drake. She let me hold her for a good twenty minutes while I rocked her. Drake wouldn't hold her because he said he doesn't like holding other people's babies, especially that young. He reassured me though that when we have kids, he WILL hold them!

We are SO glad to have Savannah home! Yay!
