The Bad with the Good

One of my good friends let me know yesterday that her soon to be SIL was in need of some thoughts and prayers her way. She has just found out that she has breast cancer for the second time. She is now scheduled for a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy. She has planned to do another round of chemo soon and to make matters worse, the docs are saying it is terminal cancer. She is a mother of three and in needs of prayers. I will definitely keep her in our hearts and I hope you do.
One a lighter note. My great Aunt Patricia and Uncle Walton decided to film our reception for us! What a great treat. They finally got it on CD and mailed it to us. I am so glad they did this because I feel like we missed so much of our wedding. Do you feel like you had no time to sit and relax at your wedding with all the chaos going on? It went by so fast it was nice to watch it. That was the first time I saw our food. (Besides when the caterers gave us to go plates for the hotel and I spilt them all on the front of my wedding dress...Nice...) My mom asked if i had had too much to drink that night. No, well...maybe a little. Ha! I haven't finished watching the whole thing but I hope to this weekend. I hope y'all have a GREAT weekend! We are finally staying home this weekend! Yay!

Thoughtless Thursday!

Thank you SO much Lauren! You were such a help! Love ya!

A Work in Progress...

Today was the start of my MARVELOUS classroom renovation. Wouldn't it be nice if HGTV did a show about this? I have moved into a new classroom and wanted to spruce it up a bit it and give it that, Wife touch! Ha! I would have left it the color shown, minty green, but me being OCPD, only half the shelves were painted. That doesn't fly in my OCPD world, you know? So, I wrangled up the sister to help. (The brother actually came and helped too, towards the end of the day!- Thanks to you both!) We might, probably, shoulda, woulda, coulda, needed to use oil based paint... but we are living on a leap of faith! As long as it holds up this year and brings a smile to my face, I can deal with it. Hehe! We completed all the painting today and tomorrow hope to cutify (new word, maybe?) a bit. My curtains should be in tomorrow so I will definitely let you know how they turn out. I was going to be adventurous and paint the walls and that Wonderful rainbow but I think I have enough on my plate as it is. Maybe next year? Any offers to help??

You can see the two green shades best in this pic. Minty green vs. lime green!
The winner: Lime green! Yay

Can you spot the most wonderful bag in the world?

The sister posing for her photo op... Shouldn't you be painting?? Get back to work!

The reason we can paint our doors (because "I do what I want to..!"), JK, is because if you look closely at the pictures, we have courtyards with two rooms per courtyard. I share a grassy area/garden with another teacher. Cute huh? Do you understand? I didn't think so... I'll take pictures tomorrow to help you get it. This lady is slap wore out. See you tomorrow.
P.S. Linda it didn't work! Try the box on the left, FOLLOWER. If it doesn't work call Lauren. XOXO

I Am So Excited!!

1. My good friend Mallory called me from N.C. and asked me to be her Matron of Honor! I am so proud to help her out on this day and to be there for her. We have so many memories... She used to have a Malibu and in high school all of our friends would meet earlier and pile in her car like clowns and smoke cigarettes in the morning. I am sure we stunk like a trucker smoking with his windows up. Gosh- we thought we were so cool! No, I have since quit smoking, don't email me about it! I am so glad she asked and so excited for the big day! Since our computer isn't fixed yet I don't have any pics of us to put up! Hopefully soon!

2. I have the best family. People have offered to get things for my class and donate money for things needed. "The father", Dad and my grandmother, Othermama, went in together to get me the cutest curtains. Polka dot of course! They should be in tomorrow so I will definitely show you a picture. I also have the best bestie's mama. My BFF Alison's mom is so wonderful. She is like my second mom, besides Barb, Betty, Othermama, and Debbie! (Love you all!) She asked if there was anything she could get me for my class. Of course! Well, I really said no at first but she pulled my arm-ha! Each group in our class has a caddy for them to put all their markers, and etc. She was so sweet to get us one for each table. I appreciate it more than you know! Love you! And yes, she is a loyal follower! Extra kisses!
The bestie with "our" mama!
A caddy similar to the ones I got! Yay!

Do Y'all Read?

I love to read during the summer when I have time. I am SO that person...The person who judges the cover of a book by how pretty it looks. If it doesn't have pink on the cover I am probably not going to read it! Pink just makes everything better. Don't ya think? I have really gotten into the series written by Sophie Kinsella. I love, love, love her! She is 100 times funnier than I am. This series is what brought about the movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic." You will all die laughing at these books. I can sit and read a whole book in two days... I have read all the books in the series so right now I am reading...

I haven't gotten into this book as much as I have others but I will finish it, regardless of it's qualities! If you have read some GREAT books let me know... Yes, I know...I hear I should read the Twilight Series but I am more into shopping and girly books rather than vampires. I have also heard good thing about Harry Potter. Not so much...You never know though... If I am bored enough we will see. My next great read will be My Sister's Keeper. It is never in at the library. If you have read it let me know what you thought about it. Definitely want to read it before I see the movie.

Raleigh, N.C.

We had a great weekend in Raleigh, NC for the husband's work. We did lots of business while I played a little. I am so thankful to have the summers off so I can accompany the husband on his business ventures. We were at the NC Sheriff's Show. I kind of sit and chat while Drake works... PERFECT combo! It's nice to recognize people from the last show! There are two guys that I just love, they were lucky to be placed next to us again! (We were lucky too!) Craig and Boomer are two great guys that we have gotten to know. They are kinda like my dad, so sweet and genuine. I love cracking jokes with them.

Not sure who the guy on the left is??

While we had time to spare, the husband and I went shopping... Really just me, of course! I found the cutest necklace. I am on this chunky necklace kick! They can spruce up any outfit. I found this one for about $20.00 at Francesca's Collection. Google them...GREAT things! My new fave!

Have you ever seen a Super Target?? No? Me either! Well, it must have been my lucky day! Here I am in front. I thought it was going to be huge but it was only a little bigger than ours... It was a little let down until... I FOUND THIS TREASURE...

How cute is this?? Love the orange! Yes, I can still be a Carolina fan too! The husband said the color was hideous and wouldn't even touch it! Boys...sigh...

Doesn't the whole outfit come together so well? We had a wonderful weekend. We will be back tomorrow and I can't wait to see Coy!! Love ya!!

Sunday Funday!

It's Sunday...if you know me that means, check The State website for the Celebration section. I religiously look online at all the weddings and engagements that took place this past weekend. Before I was married I used to read everyone through and see who was getting married before or after me. I always got P.O.'d at the weddings happening before me- BASTARD! I have since lightened up and look for people I know and see what they do for a living... I don't know why. I don't even care where they get married. I am not a big fan of the pictures with only a ring. If you are paying the money to put your announcement in the paper at least put a picture up. I don't click on those. Snooze you loose. The step mom is in favor of the ones that have the husband and wife posing together. Nah-who needs the husband?? The bride should have the whole picture for "that" dress! While we are talking about beautiful dresses
I am going to reminisce on our wedding... I LOVE my dress! Wish we could get married again so I could wear it one more time but marry the same man!

Thanks to Bella Vista!

Babysitter for Hire! Not Really...

Doesn't it look like I just worked out? It makes me feel better if I dress the part because I really seem to take on the role. You should try it...If you look close you can see that I am also wearing a sporty watch to match! Such a trendsetter!

Last night I VOLUNTEERED, yes volunteered to watch our goddaughter while her parents went out. I know...I am so sweet! Ha! That little girl ONLY wants to be held. While feeding her I was watching Sixteen & Pregnant. What a great birth control for teenagers....and 24 year olds! I would freak if I had a baby to look after while I went to the mall to do nothing and just stand around like I did when I was 16... DORK! Oh my Gosh...I am so not ready to be a mom! Maybe in a few years...The only thing I look forward to is being pregnant (I know they say once you are pregnant, you won't want to be), I don't care I love prego people. Back to the point, I just want to be pregnant, dress, and name the kid. Maybe I should just wear one of those fake bellies and get a doll...Is that realistic? Anyways, it was fun watching S but it was nice to be able to give her back. I invited the neighbors over for a play date and look how cute they look!

Doesn't it look like they are having a BLAST!? Almost as much fun as stubbing your toe!

(Goddaughter S is the one screaming)

Look how cute neighbor C's outfit is. If I could fit into it I would rock it out! Precious! What is better than the pink and green combo, monogram, bow and frills? Nothing! That mom sure has great taste! What a lucky child! I wonder where she got it from?? Oh, but wait...The wife bought it! She is the one with great taste. Ha! I will be one of those moms that everyone loves to hate but really is jealous of because not only will my child be beautiful (one can hope) but she will wear the pinkish, most girlish, big bow head, everything monogrammed and be a wonderful child! Don't hate! It's my blog!! We will see where the road takes us in a few years! But take note...I will blog about it!

Have a great weekend!

Simplify Your Life...Nah!

Yesterday on Oprah, she challenged families to simplify their lives by not going out to eat, no watching TV, no computers, not driving as much, and only spending $100 on groceries. I am in the challenge, by DEFAULT. Our whacked out computer is still not working. I have only simplified my life by not having my computer and I am dying! Let's see Oprah take the challenge. Wouldn't you rather watch her then regular families?? I would? Her simplified life would be living ours! Ha!
Last night I went to the SIL's Spa Escape Party. It was so nice to let go and enjoy friends and be wine-os! Ha! I had a great time. The bff was there and we are such trouble together! We kept giggling during the "relaxation" time and I was hoping the lady wasn't going to get mad. I am so glad the SIL had us there.
The SIL, the wife, and the BFF!

The BFF and the Wife exfoliating our lips!

Of course I had to buy something...Duh! The husband did say "Buy NOTHING!" He can't be serious! I did find a lotion that was geered towards diabetic's feet. I loved how it felt so I figured if I bought it I could say I bought it for him! How perfect! Glad he doesn't read this!

Seriously Paula & Martha...Watch Your Back!

Okay y'all, I am not saying that I have always been a great cook...I only started cooking when the husband and I moved in together to be honest. Got to be a domestic goddess huh?? If not domestic, I'll take GODDESS!!...Ha! I saw one more great recipe that I thought I would like from Kelly's Korner. The husband and I are not very "fancy" eaters. I like cooking meals that I can read the ingredients. You know what I mean...Like you go to read the ingredients and you are thinking what in the world is that. If I don't know how to say, how in the heck can I find it at the grocery store? So I stick to meals that usually consists of meat and something simple. Cooking should be enjoyable, not a hassle! My favorite thing to do is cook by myself and turn the Music Channel on the T.V to Today's Country. Nothing better...well maybe shopping...or Klondike Bars. If y'all have a great recipe I would love for you to leave a comment on the blog so we can share it.

CHICKEN BREAST SUPREME
*4 chicken breasts
*4-8 strips of bacon
*16 oz sour cream
*1 can of cream of mushroom soup (I used Cream of Chicken)
*1 can of sliced mushrooms ( Did not use)
*1 jar of dried beef (this is found near tuna or spam)

Wrap the chicken in bacon and put in pan
Mix up all the other ingredients.
Tear up the dried beef into small pieces (this is what gives the meal the real flavor)
Pour mixture over chicken and bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours
Cook over rice.

It was AMAZING! I hope you like it...If you try it let me know how you like it!

P.S. My computer is crazed and won't stop restarting so bare with me about posts.
