Snuggie

Oh my gosh!! So the husband and I were watching tv yesterday and the newest snuggie commercial was playing. Not only is this commercial to die for funny...it is ridiculous. The husband and I were cracking up!! If you didn't know they now have a zebra and cheetah print snuggie for the fashionistas! Ha!! Anyways, the people who were wearing the snuggies were "raising the roof." Remember that... the ridiculous dance where you move your arms up and down. They were also "widening the walls" like the husband would saying. I have never gotten up in the morning and gotten ready while dancing and the husband and I hitting butts together. They were bumping in their snuggies! The people in these commercials are probably dying seeing themselves on tv but I guess it is money. I am seriously thinking about buying one just for s. a. g.! This is my new favorite commercial. Please look for it so you can have a good laugh! If I catch one of you out at a USC football game wearing one of these I am going to pretend like I do not know you. Seriously!! In the commercial they wear theirs out but that doesn't mean it is acceptable. I tried to find the video on you tube but the commercial might be too new. Just look for it. I hope this provides all of you with a great laugh this Monday morning. Have a great week!!

Love my Name...

I love everything monogrammed! Everything!! It is just so classic and timeless. Here is the latest pieces to my collection!!

I also got a button up shirt monogrammed but it was wrinkly and it did not take a good photo. What to monogram next??

Congrats Marie and Happy Birthday Rich!

Last night we went to a retirement party for our goddaughter's grandma. Got that... you know, my friend's, baby's, daddy's, momma kinda thing! Ha!! She is retiring after 45 years in the working field! That is crazy! I can't imagine working 45 years but i guess I better! We had such a good time getting to know her friends and being with ours -sweet Savannah!! We ate at Wings and Ale's and also celebrated our friend Rich's birthday! I like that place, I just wish they would clean it up a bit! Thank gosh its dark so you can't really tell! The bouncer was seriously 400 pounds. I have never seen a man that big. It wasn't fat, it must have been a combo of fat, big muscles, and thick bones! Or working at Wings and Ale.We also threw in a little corn hole. If you don't know the game you have to throw bean bags in a hole. Doesn't it sound wonderful?? Get some friends and good drinks and it really is a good time! I was horrible at it but the boys were good. I am not a very good aimer, thus no sports for me!! Ha! I hope you continue to have a great weekend!

Great People and a Dad With Too Much Time On His Hands

I got the sweetest present from a friend/follower. My one day Aunt Amy sent me the cutest gift. If you never know what to buy me... Anything pink, polka dot, or monogrammed and she hit it right on the head!! The cutest pink, polka dot, monogrammed koozie! I absolutely lo
ve it! I love the fact that it wasn't my birthday, an anniversary, or even a moody day! She did it for the fact of being such a good person!! Thank you so much... It meant so much to get this!!
On the other hand "the father" has too much time on his hands. He is my favorite person in the entire world. He likes to believe that he doent read the blog- he wouldn't even become a follower- I know... Anyways...he thinks it is ridiculous that I call people "the husband" or "the bestie". It is something I started and it just kind of stuck. So since he hates it he is now "the father"!! He had so much to do at work that he suggested I get a liscence plate that says this... Not so shabby but it might be a little tacky!! Wouldn't want my followers to become stalkers! Ha!! Just kidding! I am pretending like I am special- oh but I am.. Ha!

I will let you know what my monogrammed items turn out like today!! Yay!! Have a wonderful Friday!!

Charlie the Turtle

Tuesday morning I received a call from the office that a mother had found a turtle on the side of the road and wanted to know if our class wanted it. Of course I couldn't say no! She brought him a little bucket and the children fell in love with him. We had a vote whether we should keep him as a class pet or not and that was won hands down- duh Mrs. Cobia! Ha!! I then let each table break off and think of one name that we could vote on for the turtle. We couldn't call him the turtle forever- or could we?? Na!! So the children came back with the following names: Boxy, Charlie, Murtle the Turtle, and Mr. Cobia. We had a vote and I was hoping they weren't going to pick Mr. Cobia because I would of ix-nayed that!! Charlie won!! Thus...our new class pet is Charlie the Turtle. Charlie was doing good in the beginning. I placed him in the container on my desk while I took the children to PE. When I got back Charlie was not in his bin. He had climbed out onto my desk and pooed on my monogrammed mouse pad! Of all things!! Seriously?? Sigh... After I cleaned it up I headed straight for the Science Lab where the teacher gave us a tank. What a lifesaver! He wouldn't have lasted otherwise!! The children love him so much! All there writing consists of Charlie! Please don't let this thing die! I had morning duty today and when I got to class a few of the parents had decorated the inside of Charlie's cage so it had more than just dirt in it! I have such great children and parents. I will definitely update you on Charlie as the year progresses!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!!

Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover

Look at these cute finds...

I have never been a fan of Kmart. I have always judged the outside of it! Old and dirty looking. Walmart is just as dirty I guess but they are newer. I am a Target kind of girl!! A friend and fellow blogger over at The Happy Hamiltons told me about these great nude heels she got from Kmart- Kmart... I know! Who woulda thunk it?? I have been dying for a great pair of nude heels! Still looking though!! I went and of course I couldn't find any! When I walked in to Kmart I have to admit that I was a little scared! Heck- I was walking into new territory! I survived though. I was surprised how clean it was. They had some cute clothes as well! They didn't have my size but they weren't bad! I was pleasantly surprised! It might not be the last time I head there. There were so many lanes open! Don't think I have ever seen that at Wally World...

PS After writing this last post I was inspired to go to Kmart and buy the above items. Were they there? Heck no! I should have known!! Sigh... I risked my life going there and got nothing in return!! I have to say that they did have the cardigan but only in grey in size large! Yeah... That's a big help! Too bad so sad!

The Weekend is Over...

We had a great weekend and I hope you did too! Saturday night we had some neighbors over for a cookout! Sorry I don't have many pics of that. I am sure you know what it looks like...Guys outside with their beers and the girls inside with our wine! How did you guess it? Definitely a house divided! It was so much fun to see the babies together again. Savannah and Claire have both gotten so big...Tear...

We like to play this game called Scene-It...have you heard of it? OMG! It is so much fun! I am not a big movie watcher. My attention span is just not long enough. I have seen the beginning of many movies but not many endings. So, of course, I am not very good at the game but I still try... If you are a movie buff you would rock at this game! Us girls were all talk this time. The running record is girls-2 boys-1! Well after last night it is now tied. Sad day!We will get them next cookout!

We had such a good time catching up. Only one wine glass tipped over! Thanks again Sandlapper! Well... tomorrow starts off the second week of first grade! I hope it goes even better than the first. That might be kind of hard since the first week was fabulous!! I hope y'all have a great Monday!

P.S. Our new Walmart opened and it is so clean right now! I am loving it. Give it a few weeks and it will be just like any other Walmart!

The Fastest Week Ever!

I don't know what is going on with that pasty face! I even put bronzer on... Sigh...
This week has been the fastest week of my life! It is the most fun I have had in a long time. I truly love what I do and love the people around me. It is nice to be in a comfortable atmosphere everyday! I have the most amazing and sweet children. I wish I could invite you all into my classroom but that might not fly with the district! Ha! Anyways... I made it 5 days and have 175 more to look forward to! Yay!! I have been taking pics of all my children- ha! for our wall so I had the husband take mine this morning..

I was so proud of myself this week so I bought myself something cute. Do I really need an excuse to buy cute things? Nah... Side note- I love to shop. Getting anything new just thrills me to death. Anything pink, polka dot, or fashion wise!! I consider myself fashionable but maybe not! It really is an addiction! Ha!! Anyways... I knew I shouldn't spend a lot so I thought I would try our Rugged Wearhouse, hit or miss store... but found these cute "wardrobe staples" for $6.99. I love the precious bow on the back and the bottoms are red...just like Christian Louboutin's wanna-be!! ha! I was just looking at the picture and I love them on and all but the picture does them no justice! They look like they have short heels! They are 3 inches tall and I can't wait to wear them... Yes, I would wear them to school too!!While at RW I also bought this gray pencil skirt for $7.99. Look familiar?? I think-yes! It is just like the purple one I wore the first day of school! If you like something buy it in every color! Except don't tell the husband! I hope you all have a great weekend!

P.S. No Alan Jackson! Oh well... I am so ready to do absolutely nothing this weekend! Yay for me!

Today is a good day!!

The second day of first grade was just as wonderful as the first! Yay!!! Loving it! I had so much fun...except I totally need to get back on my boring grandma sleep habit of going to bed around 8:30...I know....A girl needs her beauty rest though! Ha!!!! My sleep mask is calling my name! If you are giggling...go get one! I am serious! You will love it! The husband can't understand how anyone can sleep with something on their face but oh don't knock it until you try it! I am dying to have a monogrammed one! I know... I can't help it! Monogrammers Anonymous anyone??

The husband had a great day too! The little things that excite us! He had a doctor's appointment and we had a credit from the enocronologist! Yay!! No copay. Then he received his new phone. What a lovely wife to give up her upgrade for him! Ha!! Love the "crack"berry! Not getting rid of it! Then, he called into a radio station and answered the question correct and now we are headed to go see Alan Jackson Friday!! I am so excited. Especially to get to wear a cute dress with my cowboy boots!! Reminiscing the Hoedown throwdown!!
I hope ya'll have as wonderful a week as we are.

The First Day of First Grade...

My lips look horrible...Ahhh...No lipgloss yet...Couldn't eat it before I ate my waffles in the car!
Today was the first day of first grade and it was FABULOUS! This was my first day get-up! As some of you know, last year I tried not to wear any outfit twice but the husband has laid down the law and demanded I wear an outfit more than twice. Sigh... If you see me in something I wore before, please don't comment and but this huge ego! Ha!! Sidetrack- this picture makes me look really short huh?? Yes, I am 5'5", not 5'4" like the husband says.
My kids at school were wonderful. I have the cutest and sweetest kids I could ask for. I received a new child today bring my total up to 21. When I was emptying supplies, I kept noticing that most were pink. A mom must have realized why I looked so confused and according to her I have a group of girls who are good friends outside of class who hang out. They all decided to get pink supplies since that is Mrs. Cobia's favorite color! How precious!! Love them!!! And they were so correct! I also received an mail from a mother after school that said...and I quote..."As soon as T. got in the car he told me that 'Mrs. Cobia is that bomb and she is the best teacher ever!'" How sweet was that. That made my day!! I am so lucky to be at such a great school that has a great community. I hope all teachers and Charlotte had a great first day as well!

A Good Deed + A Bad Deed Makes Me Feel Better About Myself!

My new faux studs...

So last week I did a really good deed for someone who needed extra money. I normally don't do those kinda things because I like my money to be MINE! Call it greedy! Whatever. I was hoping the woman would pay me back but was expecting the worst. Well she did! And it was in cash! Ha! That was my one good deed for the month. In my way of thinking since I did one good deed I could have one bad deed to go with. Not that I look for bad things to do, this just came to me. I bought a gift for a friend a few months ago and I still have it. Well, there are some things that I wanted/needed so I returned the gift and spent the money. Is that horrible?? If you say yes don't forget that I did do a good deed earlier. I guess I am consciously feeling guilty about it and looking for y'all to rectify my actions. Oh well!! I'll just look at my cute stuff! Ha! Sigh...the life I live is so complicated!!!

Alison's Dream Dress

The MOB and MOH..

Her beautiful shoes...

Today we went shopping for the bestie's wedding dress!! We tried on many sinkers at David's Bridal but also found some fabulous ones. They were so crowded with ALL different types of people. We had to have an energy break so we headed to good ol' Rush's! Yum!!! We ended up at Bella Vista and Ah-ha... Alas after 30 million dresses literally we found the right one. As soon as those tears started falling we knew we had found it. No thanks to the besties...just kidding. I am so proud of her and had a great time... All day!! I also ran into an old friend from elementary school and we still recognized each other. It was nice to catch up with her. Man how time flies. It was a great day to be out while the husband did yard work and poor guy got stung by wasps!! Well it was an eventful Saturday with lots of smiles! Hope y'all enjoy your Saturday too!
You didn't think you were going to get a peek, did you?? Ha...
The infamous pink bag...

Meet the Teacher and Alex's Farewell Dinner

Last night was the Meet and Greet with my students and it went wonderfully! I have the best parents and children! I can't wait for Monday! Afterwards I went to dinner at the Colannelli's house for Alex's farewell dinner. My stepsister is headed off to college this Sunday! Gosh that makes me feel old! I am so excited for her and I hope she loves it. Sad day- this is the only picture I got because she wouldn't take any with me with no make-up!
Anyways...today was the last day of meetings and working in our rooms before the start of school on Monday. I think I am ready! I need to copy a few more things but Holly and Amanda kept jamming them up!! Amanda was on the ground determined to fix these crazy new copiers! You go girl!! The new teachers were given goodies bags full of supplies I just love this bag don't you!
The only way it would be better is with a dark chocolate monogram and full of chocolate! Dreaming... Great staff at school!! I am so glad its the weekend! Making a few more copies and wedding dress shopping for the besties wedding!! I am so excited!! Taking it easy after that. I hope y'all have wonderful plans and a great weekend!!

Meetings, Meetings, and More Meetings plus Giveaway!

My friend and follower over at http://hamiltonhousehold.blogspot.com/ is having a giveaway. Isn't this the cutest? Go check out her blog and sign up before August 26th. Good luck!

Sad day that M & T wanted to be cut out! We still love you-mean it!

Today was full of Professional Development meetings! So exciting that I am a professional now! Yay!! It is so nice to get to spend time with the faculty and getting to know them outside of school! This is the first and second grade teams eating at Monterrey's. Wait- you don't know what Monterrey's is? OMG! Run to the nearest!! Ahh! The husband and I go to another one so much they know our orders by heart. Pretty sad huh?? Nah, we have cut back a lot! Cheap and easy...Isn't that what everyone wants- with food!

Emily's burnt tamale...

The infamous steak quesadilla and beef taco no lechuga por favor! But you always have to have a side of mild sauce and eat the taco first... I am just saying!

I have a pretty amazing team that I am only and can completely be myself. Maybe a little bit too much. You might find this hard to believe, I know, you are wondering what is she going to say... but... I can be a little much! I have a lot of energy that needs to be let out. I love to talk, laugh, and not take life so seriously! I am glad I have coworkers that are so similar. Maybe less bouncy though! Ha! It was a long day with lots to be learned. Meet and greet the teacher tomorrow night! Ahh! I am so excited! You know there will be a post tomorrow night!!

Great Minds Think Alike!

So I have been doing a lot of thinking lately. Well, I over think everything but whatever. It is a busy time with preparing for my kids on Monday and meetings until then. So I thought today I would just share some things that are on my mind. No order, no subject, except my mind!

1. This thinking constantly is making me not sleep well. For the past few nights I have been up for about 2-3 hours a night wide awake. Not a good thing when I have to sit in wonderful meetings all day! Glad Kim, Emily, and Susan are there! Ha!

2. Vera Bradley monogamming. My dad's coworker just bought a monogram machine (pricey or I'd have one) and will do monogramming for $5.00 each item. I definitely need to take both of my Vera Bradley duffles and my apron. I am sure that I could think of other things as well.

3. I am loving these two dresses at Francesca's Collection and as soon as that first paycheck I will be getting them. Yay!

4. Please keep my friend and fellow Cobia Family reader Amanda and her family in our thoughts.

5. This 100 degree heat is killing me. I feel like I walk outside and the whole point of showering and putting my make-up on was pointless! Sigh... Gotta love the South!

6. I have my own mailbox at school! It is official. Totally forgot to take a pic. It's not cutsy or anything... but it is a box!

7. Got paired with my friend Lynn for "Get to Know Someone" today at school. I never realized how much we have in common. We were cracking each other up. And, the best part of all, she loves organizing almost as much as I do. I love meeting new people. Not just meeting them, like hey how are you. But really finding stuff out about them and what they are like!

8. I have the "Meet and Great the Teacher" Thursday night and I am so excited but anxious. Hope they like my cupcakes!

9. Lastly, if I wear a bluish/greenish shirt tomorrow, would I wear gold earrings with gold Jack Rogers or silver earrings with silver Jack Rogers? Help?? Fashion calls!!!!

What a GREAT Feeling!!

Today was the first day of going back to school. We were in meetings all day but it's nice to get back into a routine and see everyone again! Especially the ones who read my blog... Emily and Amanda!! I have 19 little ones and I am so excited to meet them. I called them today to introduce myself and tell them how excited I am to meet them. The enthusiasm and excitement in their voices just made me even that much more thankful to be a teacher. I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. I hope I continue to always be this excited! I hear it fades but the day I don't enjoy seeing their faces or getting sweet hugs will be the day I retire! I am so thankful to have the job I do with people I love at a great school! I hope you enjoy where your life is and where it is going as much as I do!

The Weekend Is Over...

No makeup- we are SO brave!! Ahh...

The weekend is about over, my sister has left, the husband has returned and I officially start work tomorrow! Ahh! I am so excited but now it is so real! I have a roster and all! 19 little ones! No turning back now! Ha!

My sister and I had a great weekend. It is no nice to get to spend time with her by myself before she is too cool for me! I can just remember when I could pick her up and do her hair... yeah, not so much! She is in middle school, that's all I have to say! It is so crazy how much she knows. Since we don't live together it is nice to get up once in awhile. Every time I see her she is wittier, taller, funnier, and cuter! I just love her. We had a girly night Saturday night and did face masks, tried to bake, and watched He's Just Not That Into You! A few parts I was little embarrassed that I was watching this with my little sister but she probably knows more about the world than I do!
The husband made it home from his camping trip safely. I hate when he has no service. Makes for a long trip away! So glad the sister kept me company! I remember when me and a few of my girlfriends read this in high school. It makes so much more sense now that we are older. It is so true! If a guy is interested in you, he WILL make a way to contact you. If you really like him, don't sit by the phone to wait. If he calls, he calls. I wish I couldn't have made more sense of this in high school but I guess you have to live and learn to enjoy it! Tomorrow is the start of school so I hope you have a wonderful week! Wish me luck! Ahh!!
