Freaky Friday

Today was a wonderful Friday!! Did I tell you I love school? Well, since the beginning of school we have been short on scissors and of course the kids hate sharing! I placed a message in my newsletter asking for more and look what I received today...

Love them...It turns and the scissor cups come out!! Thank you so much!!

As they day went on I received this...

I have the best class with the best parents. A few moms got together to make this and bring it in for our kids and oh did they love it! I think it is mini moon pies with m&m's, sprinkles, milk chocolate, and candy corn. Yum...

Later that night was the school's annual Freaky Friday Event. It is a huge Halloween festival and it was so much fun! I loved seeing my kids dressed up!! They told me I needed to come as a  ketchup packet- don't think so! Here is myself and one of my children from school. Too cute! I am so glad his mom got this picture.

How could I have forgotten my camera?? Crazy-I know...
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Halloween!

The Most Embarrasing Day of My Life

Warning: This post could contain TMI! Okay... I don't get embarrased easily yet only this would happen to me. Huh... So yesterday I went to grody Wally World to get a few things. I was waiting in those long lines and suddenly I had the urge, desperatly to go to the bathroom! I couldn't even wait until after I checked out. I left my items in the check out lane and ran to the bathroom. Of course I went straight to the last stall and started laying loads of toilet paper on the seat. There was someone in the next stall and I can't go with an audience-ha!! So I waited and waited! I checked under the stall and my audience was still there! Huh! Seriously! I was thinking that who ever was beside me had some boyish shoes on. I kept waiting and finally checked back under and noticed the person in the next stall had whitey-tidies down to his ankles! OMG! There was a man crapping in the girl's bathroom! Now I definitely could not go! I got ready to walk to the manager and complain about a man in the girl's bathroom! I huffed out of the bathroom and noticed a line of urinals!? Shut-up! Yes, I had been sitting in the men's bathroom! How gross! I so hope no one saw me! I ran right across to the girl's bathroom and then finished checking out! I so would have died if there would have been a man using the bathroom at the urinal! I probably would not have finished checking out! I hope this adds a little humor to your day!! Yay for tomorrow being Friday!!

Parent Teacher Conferences or the Most Embarrassing Day of My Life?

I will save the most embarrassing day of my life for tomorrow! Ha! Tonight was my first ever parent-teacher conferences!! They did not go so well-they went AMAZING! I felt like I was talking to old friends. I wasn't nervous... I guess I didn't have time to be. I think it is so special to show the parents how far their children have come, especially my low ones! I really feel like I am making a difference in these kid's lives. I showed the parents their child's first writing in first grade and then their writing from today and it is astounding how much of a change in it. I love seeing smiles on their faces from being proud of their children. It really shows that my work is paying off! I love teaching more and more each day and so thankful I am at such a good school. I have wonderful kids and parents that are so supportive and involved. I am so thankful to teach six and seven year olds everyday and so thankful to enjoy getting up in the morning!

Adopted Soldier

So I got this idea from a fellow blogger and I loved it. She adopted a soldier from Adopt A Soldier. I was going to have the husband and myself send things but then I decided why not let my first graders write to him and have them donate items. Well we are so excited that we have Roger who is a 20 year old male serving in Iraq for our country. We have sent sweet notes and care packages and can't wait for him to get them. I mentioned this to my first grade team and it is now a first grade project. We all have a soldier we write to...a great "purpose for writing" for the children. Please pray for all the soldier who are fighting and who have fought for us daily!!

The South Carolina State Fair

This past week we headed out to the State fair...grody as it is I still love going to people watch. I don't ride rides but I love to eat, tour buildings, and people watch. We went with two other couples but one couple strayed off never to be found again!! So us two couples it was!! At least it was our favorite couple-ha! We had such a god time! Not too much fun where I can't wait until next year. Once a year is all I need!

Have a great weekend!

Hallelujah!!

UPDATE: So I totally forgot to pass on my "One Lovely Blog" Award! I love them all so much but have recently been reading Pink Sass. She is so funny and down to earth. Check her blog out and you will love it!! Such a good blog read!!

I have the best husband in the world!!! Well, first we already know that, despite this so called budget! (To be honest I have flubbed a few times and spent a little over my budget) Please don't tell the husband! Not like he reads this! He says, "Why should I read it, I HAVE to live it!" He still can't believe people even want to read about me! Anywhoo! Back to the point of....(Had to check the title to remind myself what I was writing about) Brainfart! Ok, so he ran to the store and came back to the house with the best thing ever! He knows I am a chocoholic so I was expecting a Twix or something, but hallelujah! It is fall and guess what that means...

Dear Nabisco,
These wonderful cookies have only been out for about a week and I have already eaten two packs. I know they are limited edition for fall/winter but I need them year round.
Thanks,
Crazy Oreo Eater

What's really crazy is that I am not a fan or regular oreos but the second I see these I just can't resist!! Any other "Limited Edition Pure White Chocolate Covered Oreo Sandwich Cookie" addicts out there? Don't be shy. I'll be the first to admit that I eat like a heffer! Thank gosh for a high metabolism that has been abused for too long and is going to croak eventually! Sad day!

An Award! I Love These Darn Things!

I received a wonderful award from a blog friend named Dede over at Weathering the Storms. She has such a wonderful blog and I love reading it!! I am so excited for her because she just found out she is having a baby!! I think I am a prego person fanatic! I love prego people, babies, and those bellies! As Aubrey would say, "I die!" One day..one day... I just love it all so I am so excited to see her journey!! Thanks so much Dede for the award!!

King of the Crown

So I am addicted to any wedding/pageant show on TLC! So cheesy I know but I love it! I was watching King of the Crown yesterday on TLC for the first time while I did absolutely nothing...and OMG this show takes place right here in town! How did I not know that? I love the flamboyant/southern accent that this show has! It is fabulous! You must watch it. There are some great shots of town that I have never even seen and I have lived here my whole life! Yay for South Carolina!

"The Devil Went Down to Georgia"

The husband went to GA this weekend to hunt so the furbaby and I stayed back. My stepmom was hosting a pampered chef party but I only went to see everyone and have a good time. I took the furbaby so we could stay since they live across town. It was a good time had by all It was good to see my stepsister who was in town from college! I so miss the easiness of living at home! My family is super close so I miss having a full house. It was a great time!

Sunday I met my mom and sister at the State Fair to see the Charlie Daniel's Band play!! We had a great time despite the cold weather!!

Fiske fries- a must have!

Third Time is the Charm!

OK...so remember that twice I bought these shoes at Marshall's and the husband returned them once and then I threw my little temper tantrum to have them and I went back and they were gone...? Well, I did a little "budget" shopping yesterday and what did my eyes stumble across...THE SHOES!!! OMG! I was so excited. I even called the husband in the middle of hunting to tell him. He explained later that please do not call him in the middle of hunting and if I have to it better not be about shoes! When  I saw them I knew I had to have them for the third time! So I got a cute tan cardigan to go with them. Aww...I knew I was missing something in my life. So I guess you want to see the shoes...well I left my camera at my parent's house so here is a picture off the internet.

Ok, so mine are not the Tory Burch Reva kind, mine are knock-offs that look identical. If you taught first grade and were on a budget as well you would get the knock-offs too! The older I get the less I care about labels. I know...I am so old right? But when I was younger all the mattered was who made the item. Now I will strut my stuff in knock-offs any day! Seriously you don't know how excited I was to find them in my size for the third time! Yay for a great Saturday!

New Fall Do!

So I got my hair "did" this weekend and decided to get rid of the trailer trash look with my roots! Every 5-6 weeks at the salon might sound too much but I hate when hair has huge roots showing. Anyways...my hair was getting a little too blonde so I put low lights in it. It is darker now for fall! Here is a picture in the car after having it done?

What do you think?

Seriously?

Picked out a cute outfit, put in on, noticed something wrong, the sensor ma-jig is still on the darn sweater! Of course it would be...Express you have let me down!

Confession of a Shopaholic...

Is it a secret that I love to shop too much? Um, obviously not if my dad recently discovered the face in the hole website and sent me this photo. Yes, I am a shopaholic. Any meetings soon? I might be one but I have been doing well on the budget- surprisingly! Ha! I did find a fantastic cute new dress at Marshall's, my new favorite store. Why...hello- it's in my budget- that and the dollar store! I will definitely post it later! I know that I am not the only shopaholic in the blog world! Anyone else??

It's A Girl...

I am so happy for our friends Carlene and Anthony. They found out that they are expecting a GIRL!!! Love, love, love it!! I would die for a girl...just not quite yet. Maybe in a few years or so... If I knew I was about to have a girl all I would do is shop, yes I know I do that now but my shopping bag would be different...it would include...
