Premier of the Final Season of The Hills...

So I definitely stayed up way past me bed time last night to watch the premier of the final season of The Hills. It wasn't as eventful as I had hoped but the only thing I was truly wanting to see was the "new" Heidi Pratt. I have seen pictures of the new face but wanted to see how the show portrayed it. I agree with Heidi's mother: you were more beautiful before. I was once told I looked like Heidi, when I had long blonde hair, crazy I know. I was happy with that comment but hope no one tells me that ever again. Which do you prefer the new or old Heidi?

Wedding Shower Help!

So I am co-hosting two wedding showers coming up for the two people above and need some help. Our circle of friends have been to so many wedding/baby showers in the past few months and I am looking for some new games/fun to have at these parties. Both parties are couples showers so let me know if you have any ideas...

Trying to Decorate...

When it comes to my house, I am not the best decorator. Shocking I know! Some people can just see things in a store and picture how well it will look in their home. Not me! I am really trying though. We have brown, blue, and tan monogrammed pillows so I was looking for something to tie the room together and I think I can pat myself on the bag for this rug! I love it in this space!

June, Why not January?

Ok... so maybe this only applies to me. It only gets on my nerves. Yes, I teach school so when I refer to school and say last year, I meant last school year. When I refer to my daily life I refer to last year as really being last year. Still with me? What I am saying is: even though I teach, my year goes from January to December, not June to May. The husband and I have a lot coming up so I went to by a large desk calendar to put on the fridge. Oh- but you can't buy one right now. All of them start in June. Why can't I find a calendar that started in January. Now, I have to wait until June to get a calendar. I am need instant gratification and when I get my head wrapped around something I need to finish it immediately. Huh... I just had to get that out. 

P.S. Yes I could go get one that was a dry erase board but it is so much easier to buy one with the days and numbers already set up!

Yay for the Husband!

The husband has just finished the 9 week police academy for the *** **** Sheriff's Department. 

Yes, he has been gone for 9 weeks with me only seeing him on the weekends. It will be strange getting used to have him here again. Anywho... I am extremely proud of him for his hard work and success. While I am bragging I also want to mention that he was awarded the Distinguished Graduate title, meaning he is super smart! Ha! He worked very hard and it has paid off! Just think of our future... a teacher and a cop... We will be loaded with money!

No More Tanning Bed...

No more tanning beds for me! Yes, I know you are excited Othermama! My friend Sumner (isn't that the cutest name, Sumner!) told me about this product and it really works wonders. I had no streaking or orange skin. It truly looks like I am tan. I would much rather buy an eight dollar bottle of this than go to the tanning bed!

Calling In Sick...

Today was my first time calling in sick. It makes me feel so guilty. I really did feel bad this morning but of course now I feel fine-so I really feel guilty. Why does that always happen? I miss my kids already but I will see them in the morning.

I am SO, SO excited for the season 2 premier of The NJ Housewives on May 3rd. The neighbor and I might have to get together to watch it... I can only imagine what will happen this season. Will anyone else be watching?

Panama City, Florida

This past Thursday through Sunday I was in Panama City, Florida visiting my brother who graduated from the Navy Dive Program as part of his Pararescue Program in the Air Force. I am beyond proud of him and could not be any happier for his path and choices in life. It was nice to "BOND" with 'the father' and my brother alone. We have such a big family, it's nice to get back to the basics. It was a long drive but way worth it!

It was spring break and this was everywhere... Of course this would be taken at the Walmart parking lot!

Not much happening at the Guy Harvey Restaurant...except these cool chairs!

We went to a great Brazilian restaurant where they come around with meat on huge kabobs constantly trying to serve you different types of meat! Try it once!

Then we headed to some dog races. Glad I didn't dress up like we were going to the Cup because I think we were the only ones with teeth... Well, us and the dogs!

It was a great trip, except they almost had me sleep on a pull out couch that had Tostitos in it! NO way!

Hidden Wounds

A friend of a friend has started this wonderful organization after her brother committed suicide once returning from combat. To read his story go here. I know everyone has been effected by this war in different ways. 

 

The mission of Hidden Wounds, a non-profit organization, is to provide peace of mind and comfort for military personnel suffering from combat stress injuries such as PTSD, TBI, and other psychological post war challenges until such time as the Veteran’s Administration or the Veteran’s Affairs agencies are prepared to deliver long-term services to our clients through government programs. Hidden Wounds also seeks to save lives through fundraising efforts that allow Hidden Wounds to provide counseling and act as a liaison between counselors, veterans, and families, and to provide publicity to dispel fear, lower the stigma, and grant the will to overcome emotional and psychological challenges to our military heroes.
