More Goodies...

I received even more gifts from my kids. I really can't believe this year is over. I had a blast and it is bitter sweet! I appreciate all that I have gotten. I got some great gift certificates from here...

I hope your school year was as amazing as mine!

What Would You Have Done?

I recently got a haircut and the next week I wanted the back a little shorter- it just wasn't quite right. I didn't want to have to make an appointment at my salon so I just ran into a Great Clips. There was an older gentlemen checking out before me. He had to be 90-and precious! When he went to pay he couldn't find his wallet. He started to panic and I really thought he was going to cry- bless his heart. It was raining and he told the lady he would have to call his wife and have her bring him some money. This man looked pitiful- the only thing I knew to do was offer to pay. The man was shocked and grateful. He kept begging me to get my name and address to send me the money. It just wasn't necessary. Plus- I don't give my address out! Ha!

So...what would you have done? Would you have done the same? Let him freak out and panic? Not butt in?

What Did You Have for Dinner?

Umm... maybe this...
Hershey Kisses Cookies & Crème 31.5oz Hershey Kisses with Cookies & Crème 31.5oz. These cookies and crème kisses are just incredible! Like the cookies and crème hershey bars but in little kisses. You get 3 bags that weigh 10.5oz each
Nutritious- I KNOW!

Sweet Treats!

The end of the year is wrapping up and I just wanted to thank all the parents in my class for a wonderful year. They have been so helpful and sweet! Just thought I would share some wonderful gifts I have received...

Grad School...

I officially started grad school this weekend. I am not only a Gamecock but I am now a fighting Koala! I am attending Columbia College which is an all girls private college that let's males attend the grad school and evening school. I have really enjoyed this weekend. I have more homework than I did all last semester of undergrad but I will make it! If you find me slacking on my blog remind me to have a life outside of school. I go a few weekends a month; Friday nights, all day Saturday, and an online class on Sunday. I love school and am glad to be back. Wish me luck!

Dear Gold's Gym...

Dear Gold's Gym,
You are really making my life tough right now. I never should have opened a membership because now I can't close it. I was really using you and now I can stand you. The husband keeps pressuring me to go see you because we are wasting our money. Why would I ever have thought that I would want you for a year? I am officially breaking up with you. But, please don't tell the husband- it won't be pretty.
                                      Your frienemy,
Unenthusiastic Gym Goer (Or lack there of)

I Like It and I Don't Like It...

Right now I am liking...
Okay...explanation... rubbing alcohol wipes like you would package Lysol wipes. For years I have cleaned my face with rubbing alcohol... Yes, I am not lying. You are probably thinking how horrible that is but my face is oily and I barely EVER have pimples! Don't knock it. I would normally have to wet a cotton square and then wipe my face but this is so much easier. Try it!

Right now I am not liking...
It DOES not work. I have really been trying to give it the benefit of the doubt- but uh, still doesn't work. Don't tell the husband because he said for the money it better work! Save yourself ladies. I know how pretty and pink it is but it is a waste of money. Glad I could waste my money to help y'all out!

Compound Words...

Me: "Who can think of another compound word?"
Student: "Mrs. Cobia, Is pole dancing a compound word?"
Me: "Not quite..."

Rained Out Pool Party!

I was so excited that my friend Marina had graduated from Law School and we were having a pool party to celebrate. The weather has been beautiful lately-but not today! Of course it wouldn't. Why would the weather cooperate when I had a perfect pool party outfit on for laying out? Oh well... The husband couldn't believe I was "getting ready" to go to a pool party. Thank gosh I did since I never stepped foot outside!

Good Times with Good Friends...

This weekend was full of fun. As you can see I cut all the hair off!  What do you think?
We had a lot going on but way worth it. Friday night we went to Ashley's house for her birthday.

Saturday morning we headed down to the BBQ Cook Off and tasted lots of BBQ. Love it. Vinegar based BBQ is definitely my favorite. We met up with some friends. I only got this one great pic of our friend Guy's great outfit. If you knew him...it is SO him!
We had a wedding shower for Laura and Steven. It was a blast from the past. Lots of old friends who I hadn't seen since I graduated high school, 7 years ago.
The weekend is not over yet. As I speak I am about to leave the house for a pool party for a law school graduate! Pictures to come!

Something in the Water...

I am so excited for my friends Ashley and Steven who are expecting a baby! Best wishes to the two of you!

Thank you Dr. Phil!

Did anyone watch Dr. Phil today? The subject was on animal abuse. I mean seriously? What is up with people abusing animals and children? How could you not love them both? When I was watching Dr. Phil I was getting so aggravated. They had a man who was speaking about dog fighting and how it should be legal. He saw nothing wrong with putting two dogs in a rink and letting them go after each other. He said that dogs are born to fight and they don't let them get hurt. They showed horrible pictures of the dogs and for you to tell me all those scars and scratches are enjoyable to that dog must mean he is delusional. My heart hurt at the sight of those poor animals. I am so glad Dr. Phil did a show on this to bring more awareness and this horrible sport. The people who fight these dogs should be put in a ring and to fight for their life. How can you look at these sickening photos and think that this is ok? For once, thank you Dr. Phil!
This makes my stomach drop!

Wedding Bliss...

I attended a wedding shower this weekend for a good friend of mine. I am so excited for them and could not be happier. I am so sad that I won't be able to attend the wedding but know that I would if I was able. Best wishes to a fantastic couple.
(Sorry I only took a few photos!)

Shooting Range...

The husband and I went to the shooting range so I could practice. At first I was very timid having a gun (pink at that) but now that I am comfortable with it I feel much safer in my house when the husband is away.
Of course after shooting I just had to have these:
REMINGTON® MP-22™ WOMEN'S HEARING PROTECTION EARMUFFS - MP-22 PINK

Baby Names!

Over at Kelly's Korner she is hosting a show us you life, Baby Names. The husband and I do not have any children, YET, but of course I think about names all the time. At first I was reluctant to post them because I would hate for someone to take our names but oh what the heck. The husband's name is William Drake and we have thought about having a Junior but not if the husband is going to call him Junior or J.R.

Top Boy Names

Top Girl Names
Grayson
Mary Wells
Mary Ellison

Collins

I love them all. Choices, choices. I love original names. Do you know of any "different" names that you love?

PS- Yes. I think it is so hard to find a name you love when you are a teacher. You find names you love and then you meet so many children with that name. Or you have a child, who has REALLY stuck out and you rethink naming your child that same name! Ha!

Congrats to You All!

Congrats to the Bestie for graduating Grad School...
Congrats to my friend Holly for having baby Houston!
Congrats to my friend Kathryn for having Emma!
Congrats to my friend Emily who is welcoming a baby in November!
So many things to be thankful for...
