I have a love/hate relationship with the hubs having his patrol car in our driveway. Yes, I definitely feel much safer with it in the driveway but the neighborhood is taking advantage of having a cop so close.
So last night while the hubs was having poker night with the guys I was sleeping wonderfully in my bed...until the doorbell started ringing constantly. Coy went crazy and I was terrified. Slowly I tiptoed to the front door to get a look through the peep hole with my pink gun in hand! No way was I going to open that door. All I could hear was screaming going on. I just knew I was going to go into labor! I ran/waddled back to the bedroom and locked the door and called the hubs who came home.
Come to find out their is a teenage boy who lives a few houses down and they have been having problems with him getting into trouble. Some cars pulled up at his house and they were trying to start a fight. The mom ran over here to get the husband to stop it- which he wasn't here!!
I know she meant well but I was terrified for the rest of the night. Then my stomache started cramping and hurting...I just knew it...this baby has been scared out of me. Luckily it subsided with baby still in tow.
that is not fair for you guys!
ReplyDeleteMy cousin's ex-boyfriend was a cop and when they were together she said the same thing. When he stayed at her house his cop car was there. People would knock on her door. 3-4 in the morning it didn't matter...they rang her doorbell because she had a cop car in the driveway. Well they broke up so that shouldn't happen again.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are okay! That would be sooooo scary!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds scary! Good thing it wasn't anything else but it stinks your neighborhood takes advantage like that.
ReplyDeleteI would have been pissed! Your neighbors need to learn to just call 911.
ReplyDeleteEwww...I can see where that could def. become a pain!!
ReplyDeleteMy dad's a police officer as well, and there were times when that bothered me too. But I always slept a little better at night (even as an adult) knowing that his patrol car was in the driveway. I just had this "no creeps are gonna mess with us!" mentality.
ReplyDeleteI must agree with you that I would not have liked that, at all! Thankfully my boyfriend is the k9 unit for his department and Gunner practically scares off anyone that comes to the door.
