Does Wearing Lipstick Make You More of a Women?

So I have always been told that I need color on my lips-what can I say? I am chapstick queen. I do not go anywhere with out it and reapply almost every hour. Yes, I am a chapstick fanatic! I feel that women/girls who wear lipstick are more put together or mature or something- I can't put my finger on it! I have tried so many times to buy lipstick and then I then put it on and look like a fool. Take exhibit A:

Can you say FREAK! Yes, Frankie told me it was chapstick! Ahhh... How embarrassing! (I just showed the husband this never before seen picture and he died laughing.) Sad day...
So I recently bought some lipstick and the husband's exact words were: You might want to take that stuff off your lips. See! I tried! I am looking for some that is not too pink, too expenisive (Budget!) too dark. Maybe I should just stick to chapstick. Any advice?

  1. I have to say that I love love chapstick too! Nivea, has become my best friend lately. I never wear lipstick, because I cannot find that perfect color for me! Good luck in your search!

  2. I have the same problem and therefore chapstick is my go to for lip product! Right now I'm loving the Burts Bees one and can't go anywhere without it!

  3. I like buying palettes that have 4 or 5 lipsticks in them that you put on with a brush. That way if it is to red or dark you can mix colors. Mine is bobbie brown which is kind of exspensive, but i think target may have some brands too! Good luck!

  4. What about trying lip gloss instead of lipstick? You could try a really light pink lip gloss. I think it is more about making your lips glossy with a touch of color versus full on color.

  5. Burt Bees is my addiction. I can't for the life of me get the lipstick/lip liner thing down.

I am envious of all the ladies that are able to pull it off. And for the ones that can make their makeup look like a professional did it!

  6. Burts Bees has some lip glass--> that is what I call lipstick :) I don't do real lipstick either- I can't, and D does't like it anyways.. BUT Burts Bees lip gloss, feels good and adds a slight color, even their darkest "red" isn't dark at all... you should try it :)

  7. I am a chapstick queen too but there is something about lipstick that makes me feel empowered and girly. My husband hates when I wear lipstick because he doesn't want to get it on himself but I tell him tough haha :) I would suggest going to a department store counter and having a saleslady recommend a natural lipstick with moisturizing so it will feel like colored chapstick.

  8. I am a chapstick addict and I admit it too. I must put it on 5-8 times a day. As for lipstick, I’m not really sure since I’m more of a lip gloss kind of girl. You could maybe try Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Bamboo Pink. It’s not too expensive and the color is a nice sheer pink. They also have a ton of other colors. I know Burt’s Bees has some kind of lip balm with color in it, but I’ve never used it. That might work too!

  11. What about the burt's bees tinted chapstick?? You can get the lighter colors in that, plus it is your chapstick! (And my favorite kind!) Plus, you can get it at Walmart/Target so, you know it isn't expensive!!

  12. I like colored chapstick.... I have one "good" lipstick that actually doesn't make me look like a freak... I am pretty sure they stopped making it... it takes forever to find a "good" one.... I would just stick to the chapstick since its so much easier!

  13. My mom is a total chapsick queen too...I think she puts it on even when her lips are not chapped! LOL. I usually wear a little bit of lipstick with a touch of lip gloss!

  14. natural is always better! i love "soft lips" which looks like a nice neutral shade. plus it keeps lips moisturized - you can get it at target! i usually wear that underneath "the gloss" from benefit in "life on the a list" - it's such a great neutral shade that doesn't make lips shine-y. but they still stand out! you can find it here: http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/gp/product/B00275VCSU/sr=1-10/qid=1260295327/ref=sr_1_10/191-0688517-9471524?ie=UTF8&n=164992011&bcBrand=core. hope that helps!

  15. I agree with everyone who suggested lip gloss. My favorite lip gloss is actually from Old Navy. It's a Vanilla Mint clear gloss that's not too thick and stays on my lips for a long time. As far as colored lip gloss goes, Victoria's secret has TONS of tinted gloss in every color you can think of. They are all budget friendly and if you feel the color is too dark you can always blot with a tissue to mute the color. Good luck!

  17. If you only wear chapstick then try some TINTED Lip gloss. I love me some serious gloss on my lips. I like MAC lipglass, but any ole drug store brand sells tinted gloss.

  18. I am the SAME way with Chapstick!! I keep it with me all the time! I do wear lipstick sometimes, but it's hard to find the right color! Ulta has really good lipstick though!

  19. I agree - whenever I wear a colored lipstick, I always feel weird and very old-ladyish. I think it's fine to stick with the chapstick!! I'll never give it up!!

  20. I love chap stick too. I prefer the way it feels to lipstick. I wear Mary Kay lipstick because it has a chap stick feel. It actually has a moisture component to it.

  21. I like MAC lipglass, it's a little thicker than regular lipgloss so it gives you color but not as much thickness as lipstick. I think you look adorable but I can understand your feelings!

  22. Go with the lipgloss! I like the Sonia Kashuk line at Target...cute colors, and not too pricey!
