I Tried...

So the husband drives a truck with one of these...
and I drive a car with one of these...
I can't drive a stick! Too much work for me. Well the husband "forced" me to try the other day. So I did. No, he didn't take me to a parking lot to practice... we went on the main roads. Terrifying... Anywhoo... I did surprisingly really well... No stalling out or anything. I was very impressed and you know me... My head got a little big. I should have stopped there. No... Since my head was big I wanted to do it again! This time I  was not as fortunate. I felt like this...

with lots of cars around me. I kept stalling, stalling, and stalling. Finally after holding too many cars up the husband and I did this little switcheroo...
I'll stick to my automatic for now on! Do you know how to drive a stick shift?

  1. My Dad's idea of teaching me how to drive a stick shift was to tell my sister to take me up and down the driveway (our driveway was a 1/4 of a mile long) a few times, then around the country block. I did it and stalled all over the place! My dad was like, "OK - that car's yours until you figure out how to drive it without stalling it all the time". I had to drive it EVERYWHERE, and that was how I learned stick shift, ha ha! I drive an automatic now, though - much easier!

  2. I have driven a stick shift once. My good friend has always driven a stick and when we were seniors in high school she wanted me to try so I did. I too surprised myself and did not stall but I do remember doing some serious peeling out!

  3. Ryan tried to teach me once. I almost burnt out his clutch. Guess that taught him! I will have to try it again on the dunebuggy though!

  5. I can drive one, I'm not the best by any means. It just takes practice...and some more practice.

  7. No! I don't really want to learn either. But, my best friend just got a brand new 2010 car- that's a stick. So I may end up trying to learn how to drive it anyway. At least you can say you've tried it.

  9. LOL...my dad taught me manual, so I was forced to learn---esp. if I wanted that driver's license so badly! My husband's car is manual, and I drive it once in awhile, just to break out of the automatic routine. I was actually the one who taught him how to drive stick, and now he loves it! ;)

  10. Hi thanks for the comment and following! Your blog is really cute!! Driving stick is really intimidating, but once you get it, it will feel like second nature! And is actually a lot of fun :)
