My Dog is a Freak!

The furbaby has never been scared of thunderstorms but lately he has become a big wuss! What's his deal?? He shakes uncontrollably, pants like a mad man, tries to hide under your legs, and won't leave your side. What to do, what to do? Can dogs be on Prozac? He needs some kind of help! Any advice... what should we do?

  1. My dog does the same thing! I can't take a step during a thunderstorm without Scout right under my feet! He is terrified! I asked the vet, and they gave us some nerve pills to give him and it calms him down! You may want to ask about it!

  2. My yorkie does the same.. she pants really loud, follows me everywhere, hides under the bed.. I just cuddle with my dog when it storms outside. When I'm not home and I know it will rain I leave a little night light on for her and she usually hides in my closet! lol

  3. Ooooooh that's just so sad! My cat is terrified of storms too. She drops like a deadweight and freezes in fear.

  4. aww Pancake does the same thing! I asked the vet and there are things you can buy at the petstore but they don't really work. I found these treat type things that seem to work a little better than these pills my mom found. We also give them children's benedryl. But really Pancake (& Bailey) just shake and shake. I cuddle Pancake and Bailey just wants to find a place she can't see the lightening. The vet said the next thing is tranquilizors but they do have prozac too, that was another option.
