This past weekend I went to Barnes & Noble to get this book...
I couldn't find it so I asked a sales clerk where I could find books on babies. He then proceeded to ask me, "Do you want a book on how to conceive a baby or take care of a baby?" You can clearly look at me and tell that I am pregnant... Yeah... I think we are good in that category... how about taking care of a baby. Really mister??
Anywho... have any of you done Babywise? What are your thoughts on it??
Nope, but I would love to hear what you learn from it. Keep us posted!
ReplyDeletei want to do it!! i need to get the book. -Rikki
ReplyDeleteYou are so crazy... how do you find these nutty people!!
ReplyDeleteScarlett was the absolute worst sleeper. When she was 8 months she was still getting up at least 2 times during the night. We bought that book while we were on vacation in Michigan because I couldn't take it anymore. That book is golden. Just read it and do everything it says. I will work!! I wish I would of read it sooner
ReplyDeleteWe used Baby Wise and for the most part I agree with all the points. Try them all but use the tips that work for you and your baby.
ReplyDeleteI'm only posting anonymously so people don't scream at me. I say talk to other moms....don't buy too much into what you read on the internet and parenting books. I started Baby Wise and it only stressed me out. I think it is way too much work for a new mom. They didn't have that book when I was growing up and my mom did just fine. Do what is natural to you. That is the only RIGHT way to raise a child.....just my 2 cents. best of luck! :)
ReplyDeleteI did not go the baby wise route BUT we were and still are on a pretty strict schedule of eating/sleeping/ playing. That is what it is all about. It is very hard to limit babies eating in the beginning and the key is to pack them with calories during the day so they can sustain themselves at night [as they get older]. I fed mine every 3 hours and we had a cycle of eat, play/read/awake time and then sleep. However, they always ate every 3 hours in the beginning. Sleep is so important to children. I called my schedule modified baby wise. :) The point is, structure to the day!
ReplyDeleteI hear some people love the book and some not so much. I actually didn't that book, so I can't say anything about it! My hubby and I actually read the Happiest Baby on the Block instead. And we loved it! Let us know what you think about Baby Wise and how it works for you. I'm very interested because I couldn't decided between the two books...
ReplyDeleteMy Cowboy and I just started reading the book last night. We got up to Ch. 3 in one night and found many things we agreed with and didn't agree with. I can't wait to keep reading it.
