To Tan or Not To Tan...

Yes, I know the tanning bed is bad for you...spare me... I also know that having those few minutes to myself in silence is amazing! It doesn't hurt that it makes me look better. I do believe that everyone looks better with a little color. It is nice to know that I won't here my name over and over for a few minutes, I won't be hearing tears, tattles, gas, stories, or anything else my first graders come up with. Anybody with me here? Just seeing this makes me happy...

  2. I normally don't tan, but recently started. I love just getting to lay there for a while and just feel the heat ...you know, nevermind the fact that I am cooking my body! LOL

  4. I know, I LOVE the tanning bed! It's so relaxing to me and like you said, it makes you look a little better having a tan! I had a scare once where I had to have a biopsy from a place that I had on a tanning bed...everything was fine, but it did make me stop going for a long time!

  6. I have fallen back into the tanning trap. I felt so pale and my gym, Planet Fitness includes tanning. I couldn't help myself. I'm trying to get a nice base before summer hits!

  8. I am with you. I have sworn off the bed for the last couple years but I am close to going back. My pastiness is borderline offensive to others.

  9. I miss tanning. I haven't been in over 5 years and I will say my favorite benefit of it is that for 15-20 minutes in a day the world actually does stand still. I always hate when I become so relaxed and the bed shuts off and I jump and get all tense again - but for those 15 minutes or more it's wonderful.

I've been debating going. I haven't gone in so long, but I miss it. When we are out on the creek canoeing I'm the pillar of SPF perfection. I always wear it and it's helped my skin over the years a lot but I really do miss having that nice glow.

In the end it's a personal choice :) P.S. I love your hair in the darker shade, so pretty!

  10. I love tanning too, but have decided that a friend's recent experience with skin cancer was a little too close to home for me! I went and got a spray tan for the first time and I love it! Now just to find something to get a few minutes of silence during the day.....

  11. I don't like tanning beds at all but I also work at a cancer hospital and know the dangers. If I need a tan, I will use self-tanner or get an airbrush tan done.
