I Am Shocked!

After the boiled peanut post... check it out here if you missed it. I know things are different in the South than they are EVERYWHERE else. I could not believe some of you live in the south and had never tried them or even heard of them... So... for you people who don't get the pleasure of living in the South... these are some great reasons I LOVE living here!
1. Sweet Tea (the sweeter, the better)
2. Jon Jons
PL - Monogrammed BonBon Corduroy Jon Jon Chocolate Brown
3. Shortalls
LAG - Boy Girl Twins Matching Monogrammed Dress & Shortalls Navy
4. Monograms
5. Barbeque- Vinegar based is the BEST!
And no, we don't count this place as bbq...
6. Bowheads
7. Croakies
8. Anything with our state's logo...
"Carolina Girl"
9. Girls with double names...
Monogrammed Bloomers-Double Name-Retro Dots
10. Southern Accents...
11. Shrimp and Grits

12. Seersucker and Madras Apparel...
What could be better than all that?

  1. Love this post! I am slowly learning all the common things of the South! Are double names really a southern thing? I always wondered...because a LOT of the girls in my class over the past years have double names. I had never heard of that before teaching.

  4. That is so funny. I am a Northern girl and I have heard of everything on your list except the "bowheads". How funny! But I do have boys so maybe that is what I am missing out on!

  7. I'm a California girl, so when I went to NC to visit my best friend I learned: we have 2 different versions of BBQ - I had never heard of vinegar based before!, using the word "y'all", using koozies for your drinks, and you're right, everything monogrammed. So fun! Wish I could live there (minus the humidity!) or at least visit more often :)

  10. I spent my teenage years growing up in the South, and this post just made me laugh. I can totally relate to all of it. When I lived in New England, I actually got homesick for some of that Southern drawl I used to hear from some of my teachers. Oh, and don't get me started on sweet tea---I actually had a friend (from Cali) who gave me the craziest look when I started mixing sugar in my tea (because they didn't offer it at a restaurant in her area). It's a Southern thang!
